James A. McAdoo Consulting, LLC Launched

I am pleased to announce that my son Jim has started a retail store planning and development consulting practice. He will focus on three main objectives—partnering with clients who require life cycle store planning and development expertise, providing business development support to clients expanding into the retail industry, and providing interim management support to clients undergoing organizational change or store expansion.

Jim is a retail executive who has directed the development and integration of new store prototype designs and new store openings for national big box and specialty retail companies. His expertise includes store planning, space planning, architecture, real estate, IT/IS, purchasing, construction, store operations, merchandising, marketing, and visual presentation. He has led the development and implementation of over 1000 new stores and 500 full remodels ranging from 2,000 to 75,000 sq. ft.

Jim brings a unique perspective to solving client problems, having worked as a store planner for leading retail organizations, as well as a project manager for a national retail store construction company. He has also worked as a new business developer for an industrial fixture manufacturer. Jim has developed an outstanding reputation in the industry for his professionalism and integrity. One client said recently — “I have worked closely with Jim on specialty retail projects for the last 10 years. Jim brings focus to the planning and management of projects complex in scope, and has the rare gift of being able to manage both the artist and technician through a projects completion. I would not hesitate to recommend Jim for any multi-faceted undertaking.”
